Attunement Activity Cards
This resource can assist families as they support children through the process of healing after experiencing trauma. It explains how trauma may affect a child's brain development in areas such as, cognition, self regulation and decision making.
Central to our resource approach is the importance of attunement which means connecting deeply with your child through empathy, non verbal cues and shared activities that promote cognitive growth. This could include building block towers or exploring activities like finger painting, dancing or mirroring each other's movements. All recommended activities are created to help strengthen the bond between you and your child while promoting happiness and engagement. These activities can help serve as building blocks for creating a solid foundation for a strong relationship with your child in assisting them with navigating their feelings and the world around them.
The resource includes Attunement Activity Cards and guidance on implementing Connection Based Therapy, which can serve to empower parents and caregivers with the tools needed to promote an environment that encourages healing, and emotional and social development through interactive and playful activities.
