Initial Consultation:
During the referral process, it is likely your child will be recommended for an initial assessment. This will provide the therapist the opportunity to discuss your concerns and use various standardised and non standardised assessments to establish a baseline of your child’s skills. This will greatly support their ability to track progress and establish achievable and appropriate goals with yourself and your child.
Assessments take approximately 1.5 - 2 hours (depending on the age of the child) and involve a parent interview, assessment of your child, and goal setting.
Following the assessment you can request for a comprehensive report which will provide a thorough overview of the assessment findings, outline of the chosen goals and recommendations for therapeutic intervention.
